With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

When the pandemic started I was a burned out software startup founder that desperately needed a change of pace. Pandemic was the best thing that ever happened to me. It made me stay at home, allowed me to spend more time with my family and I had time to start writing music again after a 10 year hiatus from music.

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

I got to spend a lot of time writing songs. Some great, some average, plenty of bad ones. I worked on the once that I liked the most and decided to release an EP at the end of the year.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

As a child, I was obsessed with music, but when the startup tech company I founded took over my life, music was put aside for a full ten years. I had a 30-year crisis and realized that if I was ever going to really get to grips with music I should start now and I decided to have a plan ready before I turned 31. And on my 31st birthday this February, I released my first single The Surface.

Writing music has now become a necessity, a type of therapy. Every three months I drove into a wall - burnout and unhappy. This is what my life was like for the last three years. I needed a break from that, and music was a way for me to ease the pressure and do something I loved instead of something I had to do.

As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?

I don’t have any plans to tour at this time. I am excited to do live performances and share on YouTube and Instagram in front of small audiences but my primary goal is to have my music featured in tv, films and brand work.

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

Don’t build someone else’s dream. Build your own.
